Context

Fast deadlines, unfamiliar tools, a team to lead, and the stakes of a national event. The brief had two halves that both had to hold: a coherent visual system the program could build on, and shows that were crowd-safe and high-impact at once.

What I did

Designed the R&D visual identity from the ground up: mark exploration, typography, color, and motion guidelines, then the event collateral and templates that carried it into the world. Built a lightweight brand system with usage rules and asset kits so internal teams and outside vendors could produce on-brand work without a bottleneck. Concepted and produced the drone light shows, storyboards, flight paths, and safety protocols, and served as lead pilot for three live shows. Partnered with the event, protocol, and security teams and coordinated vendors, rehearsals, and the run-of-show.

Outcome

A clear, consistent presence for the R&D program, smoother event operations, and strong public engagement with positive stakeholder feedback. The system survived the deadline, and the shows landed clean.
